mickeym asked; I answer. The thirteen fanfics I would want with me if I were stranded on a desert island. (Warning: Many fandoms below).
My Little Glass Shoe by Insomnitic and Mark Bolt
I never understood why this fic didn't make more of a splash in the Buffy fandom. It is the only fic that has ever made me
believe in B/F.
BuffySotto Voce by Hth
I had issues choosing between this and
Gonzo Sunset, but Sotto Voce wins out. It is a Tara POV poem, one good enough to make me think of Wallace Stevens, and that is the highest praise I can give it.
Buffy Divine Possession by the Spike
I still can't articulate why and how I love this fic. It's been a few years since the first time I read it. Yeah. Giles, Ethan, and Xander: a triptych of unfulfilled desire.
BuffyCicatrix by Te, Debchan, and the Spike
The story that broke me and then made me anew in its image. If I hadn't read this, reading fanfiction would probably have been a phase for me.
BuffyBlasphemy by the Spike
The only reason I still occasionally try to find "Brimstone" fic.
BrimstoneMoerae by Elizabeth
Made me cry. Anyone who knows me IRL knows just how difficult that is; and to do it in Roswell...
This story is just so moving, all about what we think we want versus what we need.
RoswellMax To The Max by Marianna
So deliciously twisted, I can't describe it.
Roswell"Tea" series by Telanu
These stories started out with so many handicaps for me: Not a pairing I was interested in (Snape/Harry), not a fandom I was following closely, a WIP... That I don't feel I can go without re-reading them periodically now is all the rec I can give.
Harry Potter Filios by Keieru
Short, concise, and utterly vicious; this story both disturbs me and seduces me.
Harry Potterthe Identical series by Lanning Cook
Hmm, my favorite tall tale. I tend toward canon heavy stories, usually, but this series is so grounded in its dead-on and incisive characterization, that I often get it mixed up with the show in my head. Just wonderful. Plus, original characters I actually want to know more about.
SmallvilleThe Rules Of Blue by Thamiris
With all the doom on the horizon in Smallville, the amount of humor in fic is impressive, but nothing compares to this story for me. Laugh out loud funny, hot, and still feels plausible.
SmallvilleLick The Pavement by Wax Jism
Back to feeding my pervy nature, this story felt like a punch to the face accompanied by an orgasm. Smirking cynicism runs through it, and I'm a little scared to admit I sound like this
a lot in my own head.
Popslash (Eminem/JC Chasez)Remember by Jae
So, so good. I use this story to capture the unwary and trap them in popslash. If you've ever had a single friend torture you with stories of what you did the-night-before-the-morning-after, you need to read this, regardless of fandom.
