Your challenge is to write crossover fanfiction combining Pulp Fiction and Bioshock.
The story should use evil clones as a plot device!

According to The Big Read, the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books on their list.

1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicize those you intend to read.
3) Underline the books you LOVE.
4) Reprint this list in your own LJ.

LJ would like me to know that it's been 11 weeks since I last posted. Yikes! This is why I don't like having a job. :P

I'm not doing much of anything other than working. I keep trying to break out of my self-imposed isolation but in between the stressed and the depressed, I don't have the energy for much more than reading a bit then falling into bed.

I'm considering adding RedBull to my diet on a daily basis as a countermeasure. It'll kill me, for sure, but I might get some living done before I spazz and die.

In the meantime, have a meme:

I love this one: Organize your icons alphabetically by keyword and then pair up the subjects... watch the insanity. LOL

I got:

-Asami/Akihito/comic!Buffy -- Dude! The manga boys (from Viewfinder) pair up with comic version of buffy. That's a little eerie.

-Snape/Dean Winchester

-Katherine de Merteuil/Jensen Ackles

-Robin III/Dean Winchester - Together, they fight crime!

-Christina Aguilera/JC Chasez - Mmm, yesss.

-Veronica Mars/Mal Reynolds

-Crazy!basement!Spike/River - That right there I'd pay to see.

-Christina Aguilera/Tom Welling

-Dean Winchester/Kaylee - Aww. Dean should so get it on with Kaylee. I bet even the woobiest of the woobs would have to cheer up around her.

-Faith(circa Season 3)/Tom Welling - She'd climb him like a tree and then snap him in two. Again, I'd pay to watch.

-Christina Aguilera/Buffy Summers

-Dean Winchester/Dean Winchester - Oh, boy. My mind just went to a very happy place, indeed.

-Buffy/Angel/Veronica Mars - someone, anyone, please write this.

-Faith/Top Dollar/Myca (aka creepy incestuous baddies in The Crow) - Ouch! And also, hot.

-Faith/Tim Drake

-Sam and Dean Winchester/Alyson Hannigan

Ok, I have learned that I have a lot of icons of Jensen Ackles/Dean Winchester and of Eliza Dushku/Faith, so I'm just going to quietly meditate upon the hotness that any combination thereof would be. Heh.

Go here and refresh until you find 5 quotations that make for a "you" manifesto.

Computer games don't affect kids, I mean if Pac Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive music.
--Marcus Brigstocke

There is no excellent beauty that hath not some strangeness in the proportion.
--Sir Francis Bacon (1561 - 1626), "Of Beauty"

Nobody knows the age of the human race, but everybody agrees that it is old enough to know better.

Economics is extremely useful as a form of employment for economists.
--John Kenneth Galbraith (1908 - 2006)

The trouble with the rat race is that even if you win, you're still a rat.

-Fired from crappy job for being far too good at calculating opportunity cost of showing up at said crappy job as opposed to staying home and searching for better job. Huh. Mom always did say that reading too much would be my downfall. LOL

-Obsessed with Supernatural. (Horror and (potential)incest. It's like they made it just for meeee!!!)

-Spending quality time with Jack and his tag-along Coke. Good for all that ails you.

ETA: Since I have some time on my hands, let's do that thing...
My playlist goes from 1 to 3061 (don't even ask. *g*) Give me a number or ten, and I'll upload the songs for you.

The 20 songs to download meme got me thinking, so here's one of my own:

One relatively unknown band I like to pimp to my friends: Black Rebel Motorcycle Club

Why I think everyone should check them out: They sound like a slightly less depressed and more rocking incarnation of Jesus and Mary Chain. They are incredible live. I just saw them last night for the third time, and each of their shows has been even better than the last one.

Couple of songs to download:
1. Whatever Happened To My Rock N Roll (Punk Song)
I fell in love with the sweet sensation
I gave my heart to a simple chord
I gave my soul to a new religion
Whatever happened to you?
Whatever happened to our rock'n'roll?
Whatever happened to my rock'n'roll?

2. Spread Your Love
Spread your love like a fever
And don't you ever come down
Spread your love like a fever
And don't you ever come down
I spread my love like a fever
I ain't ever coming down.

In other music news, I get to see Delerium tonight! This weekend is making me very happy. Not quite making up for having missed Justin, but still, happy.

Gakked from... well, I think it started with JC.

This was great. I'm going to have to burn this. It's been a while since I made an "I'm only happy when it rains" mix.

1.Gary Jules - Mad World "The dreams in which I'm dying/ are the best I ever had."
2.Alison Krauss & Union Station - It Doesn't Matter "You've been in a cage/ throw you to the wind/ you fly away."
3.Bob Dylan - It's All Over Now, Baby Blue "There stands your orphan with his gun/ crying like a fire in the sun."
4.Heather Nova - Paper Cup "I'm always drawn to the dark horse."
5.Garbage - Milk "I can use my tears/ to bring you home."
6.Dido - My Lover's Gone "No earthly ships will ever bring him home, again."
7.Mazzy Star - Into Dust "I could feel my eyes turning into dust."
8.Portishead - Roads "I got nobody on my side/ and surely that ain't right."
9.Wild Strawberries - I Don't Want To Think About It "You rendered me conscious./ Cut my innocent face."
10.k's Choice - Hide "Pretty Poseur/ perfect Armageddon bride."
11.Alphaville - Forever Young "The music's played by the/ the madmen."
12.Gang of Four - I Parade Myself "Everything is in my reach/ I parade myself."
13.Filter - The Best Things "Got a green light, yeah/ but I'm going nowhere."
14.Beborn Beton - Another World "Back away from the place where my ashes are buried."
15.Wolfsheim - Once In A Lifetime "I don't pretend that I love you/ 'cause there is nothing left to lose."
16.VAST - Touched "The razors and the dying roses/ plead I don't leave you alone."
17.The Smiths - This Charming Man "It's gruesome/ that someone so handsome should care."
18.Depeche Mode - Halo "You wear guilt/ like shackles on your feet/ like a halo in reverse."
19.Duran Duran - Come Undone "Cannot keep from falling apart at the seams."
20.Aimee Mann - This Is How It Goes "Cause I don't have a bribery in place/ no bright, shiny surface to my face."

Tired now.

[ profile] mickeym asked; I answer. The thirteen fanfics I would want with me if I were stranded on a desert island. (Warning: Many fandoms below).

My Little Glass Shoe by Insomnitic and Mark Bolt
I never understood why this fic didn't make more of a splash in the Buffy fandom. It is the only fic that has ever made me believe in B/F. Buffy

Sotto Voce by Hth
I had issues choosing between this and Gonzo Sunset, but Sotto Voce wins out. It is a Tara POV poem, one good enough to make me think of Wallace Stevens, and that is the highest praise I can give it. Buffy

Divine Possession by the Spike
I still can't articulate why and how I love this fic. It's been a few years since the first time I read it. Yeah. Giles, Ethan, and Xander: a triptych of unfulfilled desire. Buffy

Cicatrix by Te, Debchan, and the Spike
The story that broke me and then made me anew in its image. If I hadn't read this, reading fanfiction would probably have been a phase for me. Buffy

Blasphemy by the Spike
The only reason I still occasionally try to find "Brimstone" fic. Brimstone

Moerae by Elizabeth
Made me cry. Anyone who knows me IRL knows just how difficult that is; and to do it in Roswell...
This story is just so moving, all about what we think we want versus what we need. Roswell

Max To The Max by Marianna
So deliciously twisted, I can't describe it. Roswell

"Tea" series by Telanu
These stories started out with so many handicaps for me: Not a pairing I was interested in (Snape/Harry), not a fandom I was following closely, a WIP... That I don't feel I can go without re-reading them periodically now is all the rec I can give. Harry Potter

Filios by Keieru
Short, concise, and utterly vicious; this story both disturbs me and seduces me. Harry Potter

the Identical series by Lanning Cook
Hmm, my favorite tall tale. I tend toward canon heavy stories, usually, but this series is so grounded in its dead-on and incisive characterization, that I often get it mixed up with the show in my head. Just wonderful. Plus, original characters I actually want to know more about. Smallville

The Rules Of Blue by Thamiris
With all the doom on the horizon in Smallville, the amount of humor in fic is impressive, but nothing compares to this story for me. Laugh out loud funny, hot, and still feels plausible. Smallville

Lick The Pavement by Wax Jism
Back to feeding my pervy nature, this story felt like a punch to the face accompanied by an orgasm. Smirking cynicism runs through it, and I'm a little scared to admit I sound like this a lot in my own head. Popslash (Eminem/JC Chasez)

Remember by Jae
So, so good. I use this story to capture the unwary and trap them in popslash. If you've ever had a single friend torture you with stories of what you did the-night-before-the-morning-after, you need to read this, regardless of fandom. Popslash
I heard rumblings on the flist about alcohoroscopes and decided to investigate...

Go here to check yours out.

My favorite part: "Scorpios like to drink, and screw you if you have a problem with that." Too true. The rest is behind the cut.

gacked from [ profile] musesfool:

Fandoms I don't participate in (in my case, that means reading), and what I have gathered about them from my flist:

Firefly: Big with the incest vibes; OMG! Cancelled! Whyyyyyyyy?

The OC: The new gay. Has guy I thought was both creepy and unattractive in Smallville's Crush in it in some capacity.

Stargate SG-1: Mmmm...Boy in glasses is hot; he and army guy are sooo MFEO.

Homicide: At some point jumped the shark, ending left everyone in tears.

Oz: Two words: Prison. Sex.

Highlander: Methos and Duncan must have f*cked at some point, right?!?!

JLA: Yeah, tights are gay.

Jeremiah: No one is slashing this and someone should be.

Blake's 7 (sp?): Still have no clue. Except maybe that fandom was supposedly much more polite then... or maybe that's The Professionals; I get them mixed up.

My fandoms, past and present: Buffy, Angel, Roswell, X-Files, Brimstone, Queer As Folk, Smallville, Harry Potter, Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter, Good Omens, Popslash, Everwood, X-Men comics, and movieverse.

Out Of Control by Chemical Brothers
