Had incredibly whacked-out dreams last night.
And, on that note, the
fannish5:
crossover 5
1. Crossovers: yes please or what's the point? I do love a crossover when it's well-written. I have a lot of fannish loves so, when someone can bring the universes together, it's great. Lately, I've been loving the RPS/Media crossoveriness the most. There's just something so neat about bringing characters across those particular lines. (If you want to check some out, head on over to livin' in my teevee, a popslash/media archive.)
2. What's the best crossover you've read? One I can't find anymore, of course. Argh! There was this great BtVS/The Matrix crossover at a Matrix fanfic archive that doesn't seem to exist anymore. It did such an amazing job of nestling the Buffyverse into the constructed reality of the matrix. (Buffy was an agent, people!) So very good.
3. What's the worst crossover you've read? Too many to list, most of them Roswell/BtVS, or Roswell/X-Files.
4. What fandom would you like to see crossed with yours? I have too many fandoms to properly answer this but, I would love to see more of sparklyboys in dark, twisted horror and sci-fi movieverses. Like
jchalo's Switch. That was so very good for me.
5. What crossover worked that you never would have expected? Just about every one that has. Heh. I just think it's hard to make a crossover plausible without getting the story bogged down in pages of painful exposition so when someone pulls it off, I'm always a little surprised.
Oh! This post comes with a GIP. I reworked my faith icon. I think it looks much prettier now. ::grin::
- There were big gladiator-style fights in which the arena was chosen by the fighter and set up piece by piece like a diorama. Then, the whole thing would come to life and you'd be fighting for your life against the monsters you chose. I don't even need the dime-store analysis to figure that one out. Although... it would make for a cool dark fantasy short. Hmm. Will ponder.
- On, I think, a completely different REM cycle, I was getting hauled out of some doctor's office because someone had sent in a file that documented all my sociopath moments. The file was holographic and, as I was being dragged down the hall, I could see all these little moments on the mall (you know the one, where you look up from a DVD, and suddenly wonder if anyone around you is real) and the train, and just puttering around on my apartment being played in 3-D above the doctor's desk.
- Then my head did one of those fast jump cuts and I was going down on La Timberlake at some club. I don't even want to know. But it was pretty hot. ::smirk::
