I'm working from Tuesday straight on 'till Monday of next week. Yikes!
I am going to go out on Wednesday night though, because birthdays come but once a year. *g*
So, the plan is: Go to work from 9 to 5:30. Shuffle off to the theater and watch "Alfie" (every girl should get some Jude Law on her b-day, right?). Get some sushi. Go to ManRay. Sit at the bar watching the pretty all dressed in black. (That last part is really the most crucial element.)
That's a solid plan but, really, I just want a long weekend off so I can lay in bed and re-read the "Wraeththu" books, and the "Black Jewels" trilogy, and "Imagica". Huh. I do love having a paycheck again, but I miss reading. A lot. I'm just so beat when I get home it's all I can do to skim the flist before falling into bed.
Oh, well. At least: The bills are getting paid. "The OC" is very gay. "Smallville" is once again reigning supreme in that department. "Veronica Mars" continues to be cute and clever and intriguing. The interview I have tomorrow before work looks very promising, since it's with a law firm that deals exclusively with immigration and they're all agog over my laguage skillz. Hehe.
Life is, shrub and all. I guess there's hope for all yet.
Oh, here's the song I've been listening to since I cast my vote. Apocalyptic in an ironic, post-mod way. Waaaay danceable. Makes me feel better, at least.
The Rogers Sisters - Zero Point
It feels like Spring in the Summer
Summer in the Spring
the earth is gonna stop.
Is anybody listening?
Greenhouse effect or Election Day?
You better be careful; you might have to pay.
Watch your step, move fast, don't wanna fall
Live for today, there might not be tomorrow.
Zero point.
Get ready for Zero point, I think it's coming our way.
Watch out for Zero point,
Zero point.
Is anybody listening?
Oh. Yeah.
