blood poisoning, stroke, brain tumor... too many memes?

Just listing a few of the things that could have caused my sudden (and exceedingly random) loss of vision this past Sunday.

Yep. That's right. I woke up blind.

I thought after the oh!-so-interesting Scarlet Fever (doctor's comment: "Can I call in our interns to look at you? They've only read about this in textbooks.), I was through with the marvels-of-science bit, but no... I woke up blind.

Long story short: I called a cab, got taken to the hospitals, had a bunch of tests, and by the time I left my vision had (mostly) cleared up. They ruled out retinal detachment, stroke, and brain tumor, so... that's good. I have to go get my blood sugar thoroughly checked out, though. The doctor thought that was the most likely reason for my freaksome Sunday morning.

My eyeballs have been behaving ever since, though. I might just not have wanted to go work badly enough to will myself blind. *g*

Work was more than ok today, though, since I had a visit from jennytsk. Yay! Bright spot on my 11 hours today.

Also, this coming Monday, I get to go to New York for "big bridal training" at Herald Sq... which pretty much means a company-sponsored abuse of my employee discount. They paid for my train ride, and are putting me up on hotel for a night, so the store and I are on pretty good terms right now. *g*
