The Gravy Train show yesterday was all kinds of strange. The crowd was very haircut, very young, very cute, and very gay. All delightful things to be surrounded by at 1pm on a Saturday. The bands were just weird. There was the very entertaining first group, two Beastie Boy-esque guys screaming fairly good rhymes at the top of their lungs to track. I would have noticed more about the performance but one of the boys was very cute and sporting wood, so naturally, my friend Paula and I were far too *ahem* otherwise focused to notice much about the songs.

Second group was another pair of boys, one on synth (and I cannot tell you how funny it was when I looked around and realized that most of the kids in the room had probably never seen one of those used in a show before) and the other on vocals, who put on an (I hope deliberately) hysterical show. I alternately cracked up and traumatized Paula by pointing out each an every piece of choreography that had been *borrowed* from Nsync. Hee.

Gravy Train was just plain awful. They went on late, finished early, and were far too trashed to put on anything resembling a good performance, which doesn't pain me much, since they are mostly a curiosity for me and I'm quite content to never see them live again.

To recap: The band I actually went there to see sucked. The other two bands were amusing in ways that had nothing to do with what they were playing. The crowd was awesome.

Such are the breaks.

Today was mostly spent re-reading some of my favorite yaoi mangas. Love Mode and Haru wo Daiteita, to be precise. I think I might put up a little teaser of the scanlations here tomorrow, for people who are wondering what this stuff I keep raving about is like. I just have to figure out which pages. Hm, will ponder. ::smiles::

Not-quite-GIP: The new pretty on the little square tied in my poll a while back, so it's joined the ranks. The artist is Amano Yamane, who wrote and illustrated Love Mode, one the mangas I was reading today. Her boys are so very pretty. ::sigh::
